Exercise 7:    Using Automatic Analysis Design

·         This exercise will use demo2 project. If you have not started demo2 project, click here to follow exercise 1: start the new project demo2

·         This exercise will use new variables. Click here to follow through Exercise 2:  Create new variables, code and label variables, if you have not done so.

Objectives:

Objective 1:  Analyze the association between BMI and blood pressure (SBP and DBP).

Detailed hypothesis:

·         Exposure:  BMI

·         Outcome:  SBP, DBP

·         Fixed covariates:  AGE (age should always be adjusted)

·         Other covariates:  EDUC, OCCU, SMK, ALH

·         Stratified by SEX

Objective 2:  Analyze the association between SNP1 and blood pressure (SBP and DBP).

Detailed hypothesis:

·         Exposure:  SNP1

·         Outcome:  SBP, DBP

·         Fixed covariates:  AGE, BMI (AGE and BMI should always be adjusted)

·         Other covariates:  EDUC, OCCU, SMK, ALH

·         Stratified by SEX

·         Click “Advanced analysis” -> “Automatic analysis design”

·         Drag and drop variable SBP and DBP to “Select outcome variables (Y)”

·         Drag and drop BMI to “Select risk factors(X)”

·         Drag and drop AGE to “Fixed covariates (A)”

·         Drag and drop EDUC, OCCU, SMK and ALH to “Potential covariates (C)”

·         Drag and drop SEX to “All analysis stratified by”

            

·         Click “View Table” button, wait for a few seconds, you will get a list of result tables and graphs.
